Since November 26, 1984, the Haldibari Municipal Corporation has served the people of Haldibari. Covering an area of 159.48 sq. km in total, HMC has done an excellent job in the past, but there is still plenty of room for improvement and perfection.

In line with the rising needs of local people and increasing citizens ' preferences and aspirations, the HMC has embarked on large-scale urban infrastructure growth in recent years as well as improving its institutional capacity to better serve its residents.

We need to integrate the work already done in the field of water generation, solid waste disposal, road infrastructure, park and square management, and greenery presentation in the community. Some primary areas of concern remained unresolved, however, and the same would draw our immediate attention and focus for the future.
